Lost records in spreadsheet

Few records in my spreadsheet 'disappeared' yesterday after I saved the document and returned to it later. It is a total mystery to me, and the only thing I can think of is that the file is corrupt.
Is there a way I can recover the data without paying for a new software? Is the file corrupt?

Thanks for your input.

The file may be corrupt. A new copy of the software rarely, if ever fixes
the problem. Is the list filtered? Are any rows hidden? Look at the row
numbers on the left hand side.

Thanks for your reply.

I did not do anything to filter the list, and there is no change in the row numbers on the left hand side.

I went ahead to rebuild the list again, but would like to solve the mystery so it will not happen again.
