Lost Scanner with Office 2007

I have updated from office 2000 to office 2007. Word no longer shows my Canon
8000 scanner. I tried using Photoshop elements and word does not recognize
that either. Any suggestions?

Scanning in Office 2007 is managed by the Microsoft Office Document Scanning
Tool which is part of Microsoft Office Tools.

The Office 2007 scanning tool is party of Office 2007 suite. You should have
it on your computer. It is the scanning interface for ALL the suite apps.

Hi Dehard,

I'm not sure I'm clear on how Word is 'not recognizing' your scanner in Office 2007. There is a bug in Office 2007 Service Pack 1
that includes several Canon and HP scanner products
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943087/en-us?FR=1

There is also a change in how you Scan into Word in Office 2007. Basically Microsoft removed from the basic interface the
'Insert Picture=>From Scanner or Camera" in Office 2007.
This page has a workaround to add back that capability:

Bob Thanks for your reply. support.microsoft does not list my scanner. I did
download 13 pages from gmayor. I have never tried to use a macro before and
it looks very complicated to me. Am I missing somthing? Darrell

Run Office Setup and make sure that you have installed everything (not all
items are installed by a default install). If you cannot find it, what
version of Office 2007 are you using?
