Lost sound when saving.

I am running Office 2004 on my G5.
I have just noticed that I have recently lost the sound one hears when
saving info in Excel.
I still hear the sound when opening Excel
Any help would be appreciated

See if the following option is checked...

Excel > Preferences > General > Provide feedback with sound
