Lost Stencils

[Puzzled]

The stencils I have chosen no longer show up on the left hand side of my
working screen. Rebuilding the stencil groups on the side does not survive
the process of saving and reopening the file. Is there some way to solve
this?

consider searching help for save workspace. when you do a save there is a
small pulldown window on the save button that allows you to tell visio to
save the workspace (which includes stencils, menus, etc.)
