Lost Tasks, Contacts and address book Outlook 2002 to 2007

Hi, I was prevously using Outlook 2002 with outlook connector and MSN &
Qwest email accounts. I upgraded to Outlook 2007. After much playing I
finally got OL 2007 to load using a new profile. It would not migrate any
files. It would just lock on Migrating files. I kept getting errors that it
disabled mscon32.dll and also MAPI could not load MSNCON.DLL. I changed OL
2007 to prompt for a profile, then created a new profile and now OL2007 loads.
Now I have OL 2007 working and I can see all my emails but all my tasks,
contact list and address book are gone. I still have outlook Connector Dat
and Fav files under application data/microsoft/outlook OLD.
Can anyone tell me how to migrate tasks, address book and contcats over
to OL 2007? I especially need my tasks. I have maybe 100 of them.

I currently have 2007 Office Student but not the Professional software. Is
there anyway that I can get Outlook only added?

So open your old default PST with File>Open>Outlook Data File. That's where
that data is.

Did you install the latest Outlook Connector?

Go to your nearest Office Max, Office Depot, Best Buy, Frye's, or amazon.com
and buy it. If you had wanted Outlook, why did you buy a suite that doesn't
include it? It's right on the box that it's not included.

Hi Brian,
Sorry but I have no pst files under appdata\msft\outlook OLD. I created
outlook Old after I started to have problems getting outlook to load after
installing Enterprise 2007. Maybe teh install desroyed the file. I was using
OL 2002 with a windows connector that was meant for OL 2003 since there was
none available for OL 2002. It worked fine for many years. I do have a laptop
with Vista on it and OL 2002 set up the same way. There are no PST files in
the laptops Outlook data folder. Now there are files that end in NST. One for
each email address I had plus a very large, 256meg one that just says
Outlook.nst. I assume maybe that is where my data is. I copies the large NST
file over to OL2007 on my desktop and it would not open it. If you have any
suggestions let me know.

Do you mean an Outlook Hotmail Connector, as in Outlook Live
(http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/mool.htm)? There would still have been
another PST on your hard drive in %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. You couldn't have run Outlook without it.

Outlook 2002 is not compatible with Vista.

For the old Outlook Connector, this is the cache file, just as Outlook
Connector V12.1 creates OST files.

You cannot reuse the Hotmail caches. Outlook will always create a new one
when you create the Hotmail (Windows Live) account in Outlook. You still
would have had another PST on the hard drive. Outlook could not have operated
without one. If you no longer have it, you deleted it. Installing a newer
(or any) version of Outlook would not delete one that existed at installation
time.
