Lost the PERT COM add-in and need it back

L

Larry Christofaro

I was getting errors when working with the PERT and tried to fix the problem.
I accessed the COM list and removed the PERT chart Add-in, and now I can't
get it back. Help doesn't help, searching I couldn't find the answer, and
uninstalling / reinstalling MS Project did nothing. I still have access to
adjust dates, compare versions, and copy picture. Can someone help me get
the PERT toolbar functioning again?

Mike,
Thanks for the suggestion but I had already tried the global rename and
still no luck, also tried repair before the reload. But, good news is that I
did figure it out. With that these are the steps I used to recover the PERT
functionality.
1. Selecting Add from the COM Add-ins window defauts to C:\Users\Larry
Christofaro\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns\. This folder doesn't contain
any add-ins.
2. This morning I found that the existing add-ins are located in C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ (funny what a good night sleep can do for
your thought process).
3. I searched through the folder in step 2 in Explorer and found a dll
called PERTANL.DLL.
4. Back to Project I changed the default directory, selected this DLL and
was successful in reinstalling a working PERT function.

I am using Microsoft Project Profesional 2007, SP2, CU 12/09 but also have
Project 2010 installed and was thinking this might have been part of the
problem. I'm still not sure what happened that corrupted this function but
it now works.
