lost word file, revisted

ok, yes i understand, floppy are.... no good.
However, i am wondering as to if there is anyway to
recover a corrupted doc file. It is recoverable to the
point where i can use the text portion recover option that
comes with word, and everything is there, but is there
anyway i can recover the formatting?
