Lost Years of notebooks

A couple nights ago i recovered my gateway computer by moving all files on
the hard drive to a C:\backup folder, following that windows was restored
back to its original state. Everything is there except for my Onenote
Notebooks (unless its just hidden, [i hope]) anyways im scared years of work,
and notes are lost and hope i can somehow recover these.

Try to look up in your backup folder for files with *.one extension. Just
use windows' search function. Once you know where exactly your files are go
to one note and click on File->open->notebook. Feed it with appropriate path
(you found by search option) for each notebook respectively and hopefully
your beloved notes will reappear in your onenote.

What version of OneNote are you using? I assume you moved the "My
Documents" folder in its entirety? In which case you should have gotten
the OneNote notebooks; unless you stored them in a location other than
the default.
