lower case types as all caps and all caps types as lower case

I've inadvertently hit something and cannot get this re-set. When the Caps
Lock is Off the words are in all caps and when the Caps Lock in On the words
are all in lowercase!Any suggestions? Thanks!

Caps Lock is a toggle. It depends on your keyboard, and any drivers
installed for it, but for the most part the only indication you get that it
is on is whether characters appear in upper case or not. What is the problem
with simply ignoring whatever it is that tells you it's 'on' or 'off' and
pressing it to switch modes regardless?

That's so true: I wasn't thinking and of course, didn't see your answer till
