Mac Excel (and Word) Readers

I'm trying to download the Microsoft Excel (and Word) Readers for my
Mac mini but only find .exe files on the Microsoft download page. I was
able to download the Powerpoint Reader successfully (using Stuffit to
expand the downloaded file) and it runs in Classic mode. But I don't
find similar expandable files for the Excel and Word Readers. Can
anyone help? Thanks.

I should have used the word viewer instead of reader - sorry.
Didn't intend to confuse what I need with a newsreader.

I don't know of free dedicated Mac viewers. Here are some of the
potential solutions I know of:

Free:

ThinkFree Online, full online office suite:
    http://www.thinkfree.com/

NeoOffice, OpenOffice implementation for Mac. Slick.
http://neooffice.com/

AbiWord (reads/writes Word files - have to compile from source):
    http://www.abisource.com/

Gnumeric (open source spreadsheet - need to compile from source):
http://www.gnome.org/projects/gnumeric/

DOCtor, converts Word docs to pdfs (GUI for antiWord):
http://www.stone.com/DOCtor/

antiExcel (compile with Fink - no Mac GUI that I know of):
http://sourceforge.net/projects/antiexcel/

Commercial:

iWork ($80)
http://www.apple.com/iwork/

Appleworks Suite ($80) (free with some hardware configs):
    http://www.apple.com/appleworks/

    icWord ($20)
    http://www.panergy-software.com/products/icword/index.html

icExcel ($20)

ThinkFree Office ($50), desktop office suite:
    http://www.thinkfree.com/

Mariner Pak ($199, $240 includes lifetime upgrades)
