Mac excel to PC excel

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Email Client: imap I'm a long time PC user that just switched to Mac and am using MS Office for the Mac. The excel view is quite different. Is there any way to quickly change the entire default view to the default view of MS excel for PCs? For example the short-cut keys of F2 and F4 don't work. Also, there is no bar that lets me view cell formulas when a cell is highlighted.

Thanks

I¹m not an Excel guy, but I think the F2 function you¹re looking for is
ctrl-U in the Mac version of Excel.

Hello,

You're posting to the Entourage for Mac group.
But no matter.

The default view in Excel 2008 is changed in Excel - Preferences -
View, "Preferred view for new sheets".

You already received your answer on F2 (Control+U).
(Who woulda thought, eh.)
I've also written about a few other keyboard shortcuts here:

As for the F4 equivalent on Excel 2008:

You can find more keyboard shortcuts in the Excel
help contents.

With Excel, in general you're able to customize the keyboard shortcut
for most functions and commands from the Tools - Customize Keyboard
command. Have a look.
