We have a number of Macs which run either the Mac Mail or Entourage client
failing to Receive mail and properly communicate with Exchange 5.5. Any
constructive advice in resolving would be greatly appreciated. Below is some
history of the issue at hand:
We have a G5 and also a laptop running OS X version 10.3.7 and the latest
Entourage client. Regardless of whether we configure Mail or Entourage for
e-mail, the process fails to Receive mail, but can Send mail. Also, it
should be known there are a number of MAC clients which do successfully
Send/Receive e-mail using Entourage against their respective Exchange 5.5
servers on a daily basis. This seems to be a more recent issue for
implementing new MACs and having existing users setup on them.
When trying to Send/Receive from Entourage for a user we get "Error on the
IMAP server.....Invalid account ID or password. Check your account settings.
Error: 11003"
I don't believe the issue is Exchange related since others have been working
for some time and the protocols are Enabled and set appropriately. I also
don't think its e-mail client specific, but not sure. I also lean more
towards the Mac OS itself, but since one particular that IS working using
Entourage uses the same OS load, that doesn't make sense to me either.
