mac office 2001 problems

T

Tim Howley

I received this e mail address from Microsoft which no longer supports my
software program. I am pretty much out of business until I get some help.
My menus no longer work because word settings (9) are corrupted.
I have their past instructions for this problem which are....
drag word settings (9) file to desktop...
and if that does not work...
trash the normal template.
This has always worked in the past but it no longer works.
Possibly something else is wrong, I just don't know

Is there help available here?

Please reply.

Hi Tim -

I'm certain someone here can be of help, but will probably need more detail
about the problem.

Complete version & updates info on Office & Mac OS would be quite helpful.
Also, what are the *specific* symptoms & behaviors (or lack of same) that
you are referring to?

Hello Tim,

This may help: http://word.mvps.org/mac/word2001menus.html

If it doesn't, post back (unfortunately I may not be able to help personally
I'm on a different time zone and I can't well remember Word 2001 at the
micro level) but there are others here who will, I'm sure.

Cheers,

* SUGGESTION -- KEEP REVISITING AFTER YOU POST: If you post a question,
keep re-visiting the newsgroup for several days after the first response
comes in. Sometimes it takes a few responses before the best or complete
solution is provided; sometimes you'll be asked for further information.
Good tips about getting the best out of posting are at
http://word.mvps.org/Mac/AccessNewsgroups.html and
http://word.mvps.org/FindHelp/Posting.htm (if you use Safari you may see a
blank page and have to hit the circular arrow icon -- "Reload the current
page" -- two or more times).

* AVOID BEING SPAMMED: Addresses for spamming are often collected from
contributors to newsgroups. One way of avoiding this is to set up a
"send-only" dummy e-mail account to post from: see
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/tips/tip019.html
(There is no need to keep your real first name off the post itself; in fact
if you include it, people responding will more easily remember your problem
in subsequent posts than if you use an abstract name or none at all.)
