mac office 2004 updater not installing

M

Molly

Hey all:

Whenever I try to install the latest 2004 update in hopes to fix a
memory leak and it keeps on telling me I need admin permissions. I am
an admin on the machine.

I enabled root, downloaded pseudo, created a new account with admin
rights, and I'm still having the same problems.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Molly

Hi Molly,

Boot from OS X Cd and try reparing Disk Permissions.

Login under Root user and download Office 2004 Update and try installing.

Hope this resolves your issue.

I already tried logging in under root and got the same permissions
error. We ran permissions repair within using Cocktail, and had the
same problem. I'll try the CD route - but any other suggestions out
there?

Hi,

Try reparing the Disk permissions by booting through the CD, Hopefully it
should resolve the issue.

Still if you have a same issue then I would suggest you to Uninstall the
Office application completely and reinstall again.
