mac office X crashes when using solver

Every time I try to use solver it crashes the whole applicaiton and I can't
seem to find a fix anywhere. I've tried installing some updates but nothing
is relavent. please help. thank you.

I have a 15Gig HD on my iBook at only 700 MB free.
Maybe that's the reason ?

I tried restarting and only running Excell... Nothing.

I remember in OS9 we could assign more memory to an application ... Is that
still possible in OSX-panther ?

I saved the file a couple of months - when I was working on it - in an A and
B version ... So ... Ok, I can imagine something happens to 1 file.. But
....come on ... The second one too ?
