PPT Version X (for Mac) MAC OS 10.4.2

Every time I right click in my file, the "right click" menu duplicates. For
example:

The first time I right click the menu reads:
help; Spotlight; paste; ruler; guides; Slide layout ...; Slide Color
Scheme...; Slide Background...; Slide Design

the next time I right click the menu reads:
help; Spotlight; paste; ruler; guides; Slide layout ...; Slide Color
Scheme...; Slide Background...; Slide Design; Spotlight; paste; ruler;
guides; Slide layout ...; Slide Color Scheme...; Slide Background...; Slide
Design

next time:
help; Spotlight; paste; ruler; guides; Slide layout ...; Slide Color
Scheme...; Slide Background...; Slide Design; Spotlight; paste; ruler;
guides; Slide layout ...; Slide Color Scheme...; Slide Background...; Slide
Design; Spotlight; paste; ruler; guides; Slide layout ...; Slide Color
Scheme...; Slide Background...; Slide Design

etc ... etc.

This is the first time I've used PPT on this computer so I've not changed
any settings.

Thanks in advance,

Jen

Steve,

Thanks for responding and for your sense of humor! I will check out the Mac
boards, I didn't know they existed. I'm back on a Mac after having been on a
PC for years. (changed companies).

Thanks! Jen

My. You certainly don't want to do too much of that, it could get ugly. ;-)

This is more of a Windows based PPT group - you'll want to post also in
Public.Mac.Office.PowerPoint where the Mac-aware hang their hats.

That said, I have [swivels to the left] sitting before me a Mac (OS 10.2.8)
with PPT/X. That OS version doesn't have Spotlight, but it doesn't have The
Menu That Ate Cincinnati either. A good thing, that, else (living there as I
do) I'd be swimming in MacDigestiveJuices by now.

I wonder if Spotlight installs something that makes PPT ill. Or whether PPT/X
isn't fully Tiger-compatible.

This is most commonly related to menu items that cannot be used. For
example, if you are at the first slide, then how do you use the "Previous"
menu item? You can't go back if you are at the beginning. Since "Previous"
cannot be used, it is not show. However, you do wind up with only a portion
of the full menu.

To enable full menus, follow these instructions:

From the menu bar, go to "Tools", then click on "Customize..."

Click the "Options" tab and place a check (or X) next to "Always show full
menus".

Any item that cannot be used will show, but will be grayed out.
