I recently uprgraded my g5 desktop at home from mac os 10.3.9 to 10.4.6
I then installed Microsoft Office 2004.
I am wondering if anyone can recognize these problems, and suggest a
cure:
Problem 1.
When trying to save Microsoft Word documents, I select 'Save As' and
try to modify the
directory the file is to be saved into, the computer won't let me- just
insists on keeping the directory
choice as it is. Then, if I try to save it, the document dissapears
from the directory
(I watch it happen using Finder), instead something else called 'Word'
and some funny letters
appears. After closing some windows and opening up the finder again,
the documents reappears.
That was in the morning. Now when I try to 'Save As' and try to modify
the
directory, Word crashes.
Problem 2:
I also noticed some strange font things occuring in other applications
like Safari,
when I attempt to type, say, a search quesry in Google. Instead of the
english alphabet, I end
up with a bunch of squares appearing. Not sure if it is related to my
Microsoft Office install.
