Mac OS X Word Application Unexpectedly Quits

After I applied the latest update to Mac Office X I stopped being able to
open up any word documents. When I click on the Word Icon or try to open a
word document I receive the error message The application Word has
Unexpectedly quit. No other applications are effected. I don't seem to
have duplicate font files and I cannot find a normal.dot template on the
computer.

Entourage, Excel and PowerPoint open and work fine.
