Mac Powerpoint 2004 freezing on open file

Phil Jensen

I have had powerpoint for over a year. About a couple of weeks ago it started
hanging if I File > Open. If I wait long enough eventually the file open
window opens but it has literally 40 or 50 columns and I get that lovely
beach ball thing. I then have to force quit to kill it. I can open files if I
use finder to locate the file and then double click on it.

Hoping someone out there has some wisdom for me.

Hi Phil,

Let's start with easy things.

Try running Apple's Disk Utility to repair permissions. See if that helps.
