I prepare slides for a class in the local school. On my Mac - no
problems. I import pictures as TIFF, or PICT or JPEG and everything is
fine. (OSX 10.4.5,
Unfortunately the school is PC based and as a visitor I just have to
use what is available. I can't install software onto the PC's in the
school - and I have no access to their network. The digital projector
is on their network.
I use a USB pen drive and plug it into one of their networked PC to
show the slides. Every so often I get a blank screen with a message
with something along the lines of "Quicktime decompression needed to
view this image".
How can I ensure this doesn't happen? Is there some way I can be
forewarned of the problem on my Mac, and correct the problem before I
get anywhere near the school and their PC's? Why doesn't the
compatabilty check in the Toolbox forewarn me of a possible problem?
