Hello [whatever your name is],
It's likely the PC does not have an obvious font to substitute for the font
you have used.
By this I mean that if you use Times (a Postscript font used commonly on the
Mac) in a document, a PC will open it in Times New Roman (a Truetype font
used commonly on the PC). But if you use a Mac Postscript font that the PC
cannot recognize, the PC may well open it up in Courier. If that occurred,
it would be because even though the PC may have a font of the same name, it
may have been produced by different manufacturers. In that case you have to
select the affected text and apply the font you want.
There's an article that's worth consulting on cross-platform issue at:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/wordx/wordx_main.asp?embfpath=featartx&embfname
=wd_crossplatform.asp
and an answer of mine, in this newsgroup yesterday, to a related query may
have something of interest in it.

for you to back up your Normal template and all your Word settings (to a
medium other than your hard drive)?
