Hello,
I'm new to mac platform and was quite excited about compatibility with
windows. That is until I tried to read Mac Office X files on Windows
NT (office 97)and XP (Office XP). The PC invariably converts the name
of the file to something like this: ._document.doc. In properties,
the "compatible" file shrinks to something very litlle (as compared to
the original created on the Mac, usually less than 100 bytes ). The
same file, when taken back to mac seems to be OK. This happens with
excell, word and power point files. The same files can be retrieved
most of the time from emails posted from the Mac as attachments. The
problem is particularly annoying when there are large files, sych as
power point with pictures which I cannot email to "the dark side".
Any ideas/help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Miroslav
