Mac Word 2004 - date wrong

Have just installed Office 2004 on the Mac. The date Word offers to insert
into documents is wrong, by one day older than it should be. Are there
insights on this problem?

Assuming your system clock is correct, the usual reason for this is that
Word was started on the previous day and has been running continuously ever
since. Word gets the date at startup and doesn't update it.

Thanks so much for this. That may just be the issue here - I'll check, for
the future. Today, for instance, with a newly launched Word, the date is ...
up to date.
