mac word auto sends in *.sit

When I send a document from my ibook with office x and all the upgrades to
a PC it is received as a
name Asion*sit it is sent as name.doc
When I try to open it says FILE CONVERSION at the top..and then I am to
accept some language.

It is as if it got stuffed before it got sent..
I am not stuffing it. I find no preferences indicating that.. I am stuck

That's probably a setting in the application you use for e-mails. You
can probably turn it off but you can also encourage your contacts to
install the Stuffit Expander fro Windows. It works well there as well
and it's free. That would solve the issue.
