Mac Word - template

Does any one know how to change the template size? I like a template
that is for the flyer - yet it only appears to work if you comply with
the standard 8.5 x 11 page. How do I change the template size (i.e.
background) to shrink to fit a smaller area? Please hellp!!

What happens if you choose a different page size from Page Setup?
