The resident Apple Store Genius tells me Office 2004 will not work on the
new MacBook Pro. He states that MSF will have to update it to be
compatible. Is this true??

Seems like I read that Entourage was the app that would not work. The Mac
BU has said that a free update for Entourage and Messenger will be available
around "March".

No, I do not think this is true. All Office apps should run fine. Virtual
PC, however, will NOT run.

My understanding was that the Entourage update is to add features, not
compatibility with Rosetta.

All of Office 2004 will have to run inside Rosetta on an Intel Mac, but I
think it is supposed to work (except Virtual PC, won't work at all). At the
keynote, Steve Jobs was running Word in Rosetta.

I'm incorrect. It works fine on 10.4.4 under Rosetta.
