Macro as Custom Menu Command

I've inherited a spreadsheet with two commands in the tools menu that used
to run macros, but no longer work because the underlying macros have either
had their names changed or been deleted.

These menu commands only appear when the specific excel file is open, and do
not linger when the file is closed.

Where do these additional menu commands live? I need to access them to
edit/delete them, but can't find them. I don't see a module for them; the
macros have no (apparent) reference to a menu command; when I edit the menu
using tools..customize and right clicking on the menu item, I can fix the
commands, but when I leave excel and return, my changes are lost (this leads
me to believe they're being controlled from somewhere else).

have you looked in the ThisWorkbook class module ? This would likely
contain the code which runs when the workbook is opened and any subroutines
used to add and delete the toolbar entries.

There's nothing in the "This Workbook" class module. Any other thoughts?

Check the regular code modules for macros named Autpen and
Auto_Close.

There are no macros or modules at all besides the one macro that I'm trying
to get the menu command to properly access.
