A user has had HP Scanjet 8250 installed on their XP box that has caused
their MSWord2003 to display the following error when MSWord is launched and
when saving a newly created file (NOT opening a file):
"The macro cannot be found of has been disabled because of your Macro
security settings."
The user's macro settings were ALREADY as "Medium," and Outlook was closed
the entire time of these attempts (so Outlook's use of Word as its email
editor was not a factor).
Some documentation states to delete all *.tmp files in order to "free" the
Normal.dot file. But before I do invasive surgery, I'd like to see if there
is something that I'm missing. Did the HP Scanjet 8250 installation cause
this? Is it not compatible with Word (Scanjet must cooperate with Word in
order to provide the option to scan directly into Word)?
Thanks for any help.
