Macro for Multiple Filter - Custom Toolbar

H

Hadi

Hello Experts,

I would like to create a macro and assign it to a custom toolbar for my
users. I need the macro to prompt the users to select from a list of multiple
filters. I have a few filters in mind that i would like to have the user
select from without having to go to project--filters--and select from the
list there. I think this will involve the ApplyFilter command and the
InputVal function some how but I dont know how to add the fitler i want under
the prompt window.

Thanks in advanced for your help

Rod,

as you know, the list contains many filters that i use sometimes and do not
want to delete. I need another drop down with only a few filters for a
specific group of my users

Pardon me for bumping in. You can pare down the list of Filters
that appear in the toolbar through Project > Filtered for More
Filters -- Edit the filter and remove the check under "show in
menu". All filters are still available through the More Filters
dialog. You may find adding the Filters command to your toolbar
makes getting to the additional filters easier.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie, I guess this will work. So they would to go to Project-->Filter For-->
and choose one of the now "trimmed down" filter list. I would still perfer a
custom toolbar where I can give the command a unique name they can relate to
and be able to find it immediatley. If it's a complicated macro then i can
live with the your suggestion

No need to go to the menu -- the Filter drop-down in the Formatting
toolbar is much quicker. The filters are already there under "All
Tasks" -- no need for you to craft the custom dialog box nor the way
to capture the user's selection. What you are asking to develop is
already done.

Julie,

I guess I'm missing something here. the Filter drop down in the formatting
toolbar still shows all of the Filters whether they have the "show in menu"
checked or not.
