Macro / Global template

I have no idea where this came from but i get these two following widows
popping up on me.

I can't tell if it only happens when i have Outlook open or not but it just
started happening a couple weeks ago. It just pops up without me trying to
open MSword. I am thinking there is a link to this problem to MSOutlook. I'm
not sure though.

I have run several different spywear, virus scans, etc. Nothing seems to
help this.

I would be more inclined to suspect an add-in of some sort that is trying to
mess with Normal.dot. If you are running Norton AntiVirus, disable its
Office Plug-in (that's good advice even if it isn't the cause of this
specific problem). If you got Word as part of Works Suite but are using it
freestanding (not launching it from the Works Task Launcher), uninstall
(through Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs), the Microsoft Works Suite
Add-in for Word. If neither of these is relevant, look for other add-ins
(see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CheckIfAddinsInstalled.htm).

Go to Tools | Macro | Security and, on the Trusted Sources tab, make sure
that you have "Trust all installed templates and add-ins" checked. This will
allow macros in all templates in your User Templates and Workgroups
Templates folders and in the Word Startup folder to run. Unfortunately, this
trust does not extend to the Office Startup folder, which might be the
source of the error message.

Thanks Suzanne. I did the Tools/macro/security thing it was already checked
though. I looked in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033
folder and found lots of templates from different programs. Is this where the
"Normal.dot" is located? If so, i'm missing that. Where do i "Norton
AntiVirus, disable its Office Plug-in"?

Normal.dot is located in the folder designated as your user templates
folder - which should _not_ be the Templates\1033 folder. For more on the
different kinds of templates, tabs on the file new dialog, and locations of
templates folders see http://addbalance.com/usersguide/templates.htm.

You disable the Plug-In in your Norton Antivirus program's options.

Completed the Nortons plug-in part. Where should i have all my templates?
1) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates
or
2) C:\Documents and Settings\Ballrz\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

For an ordinary template, (2). But for a global template, the correct path
would be C:\Documents and Settings\Ballrz\Application
Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP

1) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates
or
2) C:\Documents and Settings\Ballrz\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
The folder you found in Documents and Settings is the correct one --
assuming that's where the User Templates item in Tools > Options >
File Locations points to (that can be changed to any folder you
choose, but there's rarely any reason to do that).

The templates that are installed with Word go wherever Word puts them. Don't
move them. Designate a user templates folder. That is where Word will put
normal.dot and any other user created templates. You can also have a
workgroup templates folder. This is all laid out in the article I referred
you to earlier. Among the two choices you show, my guess is that the second
is the folder currently designated as your user templates folder. There is
also a separate folder called the startup folder.
