Macro in template does not transfer to document

I've created a macro in a template mail merge document.
After it has merged - I want the macro to be available in
the merged document. I am running Office XP and it used
to work in Office 2000 but not now.

I also have macro security set to low and this doesn't
make a difference to this issue.

Could anyone help?

If the document is based upon your template, it should have access to the
macro unless your document doesn't have access to the template. I just
checked this with a mm in Word 2003. The macros were available in the merged
document as well as in the document created from the template pre-merge.

Are we talking about a document that you send to someone else in electronic
form? And you want the macro available to that person?

Which version of Word are you using?

Hi Charles
The document is based upon my template. I agree - it
should have access to the template.
No I am not sending the document to anyone else.
I conduct the mail merge, and then I go to use the macros
available in the parent template and they are not listed
as available.

This is the issue.

I don't know why.

I am running Office XP.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thnks
Lily

Are you performing the merge with the template or with a document based on
the template? (Don't know that it matters.)
