Macro in XLSM Template unable to upload

I created a Reading List template with a built in macro that sorts any new
books that you add to a new books read column, however when I try to upload
this I get file not recognized. It is an Excel 07 format. (-----.xlsm)

Is this because it contains a macro?

Yes. Macros are not allowed.
