Macro or Apple Script for dates (Mo/Day/Yr)

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC

I have created a master plan that has over 3000 action steps with start/end dates. I want to give the CEO the power to open the file and check which action steps are <=30 days and <=10 days to the projected end date. If the criteria is met, the end date cell will be highlighted in a color and provide an easy visual to manage completion of the action steps. I am not great at macros, but I think I could do it using a macro. Unfortunately, 2008 doesn't support VBA. Can this task be done with a script? If so, how?

Another alternative might be to open the 2008 excel file in excel 2004 and create the macro. Don't know if it would carry forward to 2008.

Hi Clay,

I would go the 2004 route and forget about 2008.

VBA will return to Mac Office in the next full version after 2008, but
2008 will not be updated to support VBA.

It does not sound like you need macros at all. Try using a filtered list or
some of the database functions. You should be able to do exactly what you
need without any additional code.
