Macro privacy / security

Having added a macro to a user's Project 2003 file, is there any way to stop
them seeing it via the VB editor, or at least to stop them changing it ?

Yes.
In the visual basic editor (Alt+F11)
go to the tools menu and select visual basic project properties
go to the protection tab
set the password options
