I'm perplexed though - you say "we don't store 271" but then say "it should be automatically done on the append query" - what do you want inserted into ACCNT_CODE? You'll have to construct the entire SQL string in VBA code then. You can't change the tablename in a parameter. I'm going to have to driink a cup or two of coffee and read this over again.
