Hi,
I am trying to make a macro to attach to a custom toolbar button in
Outlook... I have done this in both Word & Excel without any problem but the
rules for Outlook seem to be different and I cannot fathom out what is wrong.
I am using XP-pro; Office/Outlook 2000 (9.0.0.27119); & the accompanying VBE
(v6.0). I also run Scansoft's Paperport which can be printed to for
'virtual' file-copies.
In Word for example once the hard copy letter is printed I then 'print to
paperport' for my file copy. I created a macro attached to a toolbar button
which selects 'CtrlP' to allow choice of printer - I select to 'paperport';
OK; CtrlP (again); reselect default printer; Close [end of macro] this
means that the next time I click the normal print toolbar icon I get a hard
copy print out instead of having to go through printer selection again. Then
I can simply click on the macro button and get the 'file copy'.
I want to be able to do the same thing in Outlook so that incoming emails
can be 'printed' to paperport. Of course the macro cannot be 'recorded' by
carrying out the steps and saving it; it has to be 'written' and I don't know
why the same syntax won't work.
I tried copying the VB script from the Word macro but that returns a
'run-time error 438' with the comment - Object doesn't support this property
or method.
Could anyone please tell me the correct syntax to achieve what I want. I
would be most grateful.
