Macro to answer Security warning

Tanya

I have my macro security level set to medium, which means I'm prompted
each time I open a file with a macro with the security warning. For
this one particular file I want to respond to that prompt by way of a
macro. Is there a way to do that? Thanks,

Add yourself to the macro signing authorities and make that macro a
signed macro to run on startup.

Can you step me through this? How do I add myself to the macro signing
authorities? Are you referring to using SelfCert.exe? If so, in Help it
indicates that so called "self-signed projects" are considered
unauthenticated and will still generate a security warning. Thanks for
your help.

Yeah, that's the problem with selfcert. Actually, I had a certificate
from security where I worked (US Air Force) which allowed me to be a
"signing authority" but I am aware that most folks don't. However you
can circumvent this by putting the macros in a specific location on
your hard drive. Very High Security with Trust all installed add-ins
and macros checked will allow the macros to run if they are in the
correct location, even if unsigned.

To set the security, go to Tools, Macro, Security, choose Very High or
go to Tools, Options, choose Security tab then go to Macro Security and
you'll have the same screen. Be sure that Trust alll installed, etc.
is clicked on the second tab of this screen Trusted Publishers.
