How do you set up a workbook with a master sheet that is
linked with data from other worksheets within the workbook-
I've been copying and pasting the link, but is there a
way to save the info on the master page and erase all the
other info to set up for the next quarter? Is this a vasic
macro? Or would I need to go through some macro training
before I set this up?

Hi di............

I think you are talking more about "Links" than "macros". Macros are timy
"programs" of a sort that will perofrm many feats. Links are more like
special formulas that will bring in cell values from other
places..........for instance, if somewhere in your Sheet 1 (say cell C5),
you would put this link-formula l =Sheet2!A1 then whatever value, (even
if it's zero), that is in cell A1 on Sheet 2 will also appear in that cell,
and since it is "linked"now, if you change the value in Sheet 2 cell A1 then
the value in your Sheet 1 cell C5 will change accordingly. These links are
relatively easy to type in, and no macro-knowledge is required. If you
erase all the data on your other sheets, all your linked cells on Sheet 1
will read zero.

Thanks Chuck,

Would I need a macro if I wanted those fields to be
cleared automatically, but have the master columns move
over to make room for the current quarter's columns and to
have other fields within the workbook to be updated to
reflect the current quarter?

Also what does

mean? I'm a little behind on computer/internet language.
Thanks again.

Hi di...........

Yes, that would require a macro(s), but many more details about your data
and layout would be needed before someone could write them for
you..........you might want to look in to the Tools > Macro > Record Macro
feature, whereby you can create your own macros to some extent without
knowing any VBA at all just by performing the functions you want with the
Recorder on, then it will remember those steps and create a macro for you.
