I've just read a prior post on macros and viruses but Im not clear at all. here goes my problem...

For a few days now everytime I open a Word doc, it says doc has macros and whether I want to open it w or wout macros (even w a new doc after saving it once). So when I open the doc it's read only format, and even if I rename it and save it again (or copypaste the whole doc onto a new doc), the macros thing will come up.

several tips:
-I have tried sending any of those docs to my yahoo & gmail account. none went through (tried w a pdf file and worked fine) but they didnt bounce back either. I guess virus filter thingy was in place
-even w old docs, I think I have same problem when I save them again
-tried open docs on a pc and the antivirus detected virus (dont remember name, sorry) it happened w a bunch of docs, some were repair some not (hope I havent infeceted the pc)
-couple of times Word has closed unexpectedly, it opened again w a recovered empty doc entitled "are you surprised?"
-in any of my macros-problematic docs, if I click on word properties, it says
Title: are you surprised?

You have the WM97/Marker virus infection.

See here:

Buy a good-quality commercial antivirus utility and run it :)
