Macro Virus Protection

H

Hope

We are rolling out Office XP and need to be able to set
the Macro Virus Protection to medium as a default.
Unfortunately, you can't set it in the Normal.dot and you
can't write a macro that will set it. Any other way to
do this -perhaps in regedit?

Thanks!

Hi Hope

As far as I know, the necessary registry key is encrypted and therefore
different on each PC. That's a necessary protection to prevent viruses from
modifying the protection level and so getting round the security.

If you need to distribute templates eith macros, then you should get them
digitally signed so they will work on High security.
