Macrobutton problems

Several days ago I posted the following message to this group. I received no
replies, and I fear that this may be due to the fact that I may have been
deemed guilty of cross-posting. And I did post the same message to another
group previously, and from there I received this reply:
If there is VBA behind these buttons, it is probably a language
incompatibility. Check this in the appropriate Word VBA newsgroup.

Here, then, is my post:

I created a document in Word 2000 (US English version). It begins with a
three column table. 38 of its cells contain macrobuttons; they serve as an
index. The texts assigned to the buttons are brief. I share this document
with a friend who has Word xp (German version) installed on her computer.
When she opens the document, seven of the 38 macrobuttons have been
disabled, and for the text therein "Anzuzeigende Text" was substituted -
meaning something like 'intended text' or 'text meant to be shown.' All
other parts of the document appear properly, including the remaining
macrobuttons.

I have not the slightest idea why this is happening. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Gedeon

Allow more space for the macrobuttons to sit in - they HAVE to sit on
the same line.

Many thanks for your helpful reply, which enabled me to rectify the problem.
All the macrobuttons sat on the same line in my computer, and they all
worked. Evidently, however, despite the fact that we both run the same
screen resolution (1024x768) the table appeared narrower on my friend's
computer, forcing line breaks in some of the longer text lines. Now I have
widened the table, and everything is working fine on both computers. Thanks
again. Gedeon

G'day "ged" <[email protected]>,

Page sizing is also affected by a4/letter autoresizing, and your local
printer drivers. Thus, it is always a good habit to allow more space
for stuff to sit than neccessary.
