I downed a document and when I open it the marco will not run. The document in an application and it has areas to fill in the blanks but it will not allow you to type anything in the blanks. At one time I could open the document and it would ask me if I wanted to Enable the macro and I would select Yes. The document would open and I could type into it

Assume you have Word XP. Click "Tools", "Options", "Security" TAB, click
the "Macro Security" button and choose "MEDIUM".

Macros only run IF YOU indicate to Word that
you trust them.
If you lower security, you become vulnerable to
MACRO VIRUSes - many of which are still
out there.
Your best shot is to put the document, or a Template
created from it, in the 'User templates' location -
Tools>Options 'File Locations' Tab.
