Macros and Templates

I have a boiler plate report that I insert various templates into depending
on what is needed
in the report. Some of these templates have macros stored in them. If I
open the templates the macros
work fine. If I insert the template into a doc, the macros do not work, and
infact are not
there. If I goto tools, macros they do not show up. Any ideas ?
