macros disabled

My installation of power point appears to have macros
disabled. It won't run any vb script, and all of the
macro options are disabled.
I've already attempted to set the Tools/Macros/Security
option to the lowest setting, but this has no impact on
the availability of macros or vb script.

Does anything interesting happen if you press Alt+F11?
Normally, that will put you into the VBA Editor.

If you have Office 2002, it's possible that it got installed without VBA.
Try rerunning Setup and check to see whether it's installed.
