Macros Disappeared

Have Excel 2003, Windows XP. All of a sudden my macros disappeared. I am
having a hard time recreating them because I get a dialog on Security
Warning. Going to “C:\Documents and Settings\Alan Kay\Application
Dats\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart\Personal.XLS†I get the Security Warning dialog
box. Says “Macros may contain viruses. It is usually safe to disable
macros, but if the macros are legitimate, you might lose some functionalityâ€.
Then three choices at the bottom, “Disable Macrosâ€, Enable Macros†or “More
Informationâ€. Currently there are no macros. How can I get rid of the
security warning and replace my macros. I am unaware of any certificates or
how to handle them. There were two certificates, which I deleted.

I'm thinking you don't need to worry too much about the Security Warning
you're getting - for now you can simply click the [Disable] button if you
think there may be a security concern with any that may be in the file. Or
go with [Enable] if you're convinced there aren't any in the workbook.

I suspect that the reason you're getting the warning is that there are
either some sheet(s) or code modules that have been started even though there
may not be any code in them. If you simply have a code module in a project,
even if it's empty, you'll get the alert.

Once you get into the VB Editor ( press [Alt]+[F11] ), you can look around
for such odd critters and begin recreating your original macros.
