Macros for Morons

So I've been given some macro texts as a way to solve various
problems. However, I am a macro moron and don't even know how to use
the text I've received. If it isn't too much trouble, can someone
explain how to use a macro and how to enter the macro codes I've
received? Thanks for any help.
