Macros get disconnected

Hi All

I would be very grateful for a little guidance over an issue that is
puzzling me. I have a template with a number of macros attached. When I send
the template by email to my co-worker, some of the macros don't appear on the
form field's "Run macro on Entry or Exit". The macros do appear, however, in
the Visual Basic editor.

The template works perfectly well, until it is unprotected an edited.
Thereafter, those form field that have "lost" the macro name/limk from their
form fields don't work anymore. So, as long as the macros in the template are
not edited, the template continues to work as designed. However, this is very
frustrating since my co-worker (who lives far from me) will require to edit
these macros as forms are developed further.

I would be so grateful for any assistance: I am tearing my hair out over
this issue.

Thanks William

What Word version is this?
Are you saving the macros in the document, or in the template associated
with the document.
If the document and it is Word 2007 are you saving as DOTM, if Word 2003 or
earlier, what is the macro security setting.
If the template is it in a trusted location - or again what is the macro
security setting?
Save this form and the macros associated with it as a template (DOT or DOTM)
and supply the template to your colleague.

Hi Graham

Thanks for your response. In answer to your questions we are using Word
2003, the document is tranmitted at a template with macros attached and the
security setting is set to medium.

As I said in my original question, the template and documents based on this
template work perfectly well until the macros are edited and then those with
the "missing link" stop working.

In what way are you changing the macros. Are you changing the macro names as
that would unlink them from the fields.

No no name changes. After transmitting by email and opening the template a
few of the macros don't appear in the form fields, most do however. The
templates work perfectly well until an edit is made to those fileds that do
not have the macro in the Enter and Exit fields in the form filed pop up box.

In that case I can't account for the behaviour.

Hi

Are a couple of the macros in the Normal.dot rather than in your document.dot?

If so, they will work fine on your computer, but not on someone elses.

Also, could you clarify: "few of the macros don't appear in the form fields"

macros in the formfields? Do you mean as OnExit/OnEntry macros?

Macros do not appear in formfields.

I am trying to follow this. You now have formfields that do NOT have an
OnEntry or OnExit macro, and when you "edit" them - what does that mean
exactly??? - OTHER macros no longer work?

Hi

After transmission some macros do not appear in on Entry/Exit on the form
fileds property pop up box. However, the forms work as intended before
transmission. However, after once entering the VBA editor and changing, for
example a calculation on exit, those form fields that have "lost the link to
the macro" thereafter stop working.

Thanks
