Macros in this project are disabled

Hi,

I am using Word2003. I placed a simple AutoOpen() macro in a document. Not
the template but actually in the document by using ALT+11. I right clicked
the Project(File Name), then inert, then module. A modules folder was
created containing Module1. In the Modules1 screen I pasted the macro text.

Now whenever I try to open the document, the control toolbox toolbar pops up
and a warning pops up stating "The macros in this project are disabled.
Please refer to the online help or documentation of the host application to
determine how to enable macros.

I have searched high and low and cannot determine how to enable the document
macro.

Please advise.

Hi Greg,

The thing that controls this is the Security dialog, go to Tools, Macro,
Security.

If security is set to Low, then macros will run without warning. If it is
medium, a warning will be displayed before running macros. For High or Very
High security, macros will not run unless the document or template is
disgned with a digital signature.

You can create your own digital signature with an application called
selfcert, which is distributed as part of Office.

I don't know if it was the correct way, but I got around this issue by
attaching my digital certificate to the macro project.
