What commands did you have in the macro? What was it intended to do.

Sorry it took so long. It is not an easy question to answer because the original author of the form.. I really need to avoid politics realted to this so.. OK this is an appication for employment and is an official form. The people who created the form created it with tables innitially using 97 word. Next they added form fields to post at their site. We finnaly got access via politics . The form was not accesable to people who are blind so I had one of my staffs who happens to be blind create... well in his words: I have finished modifying the State of (blank) application. I have simply added Status Bar help and F1 key help for all fields. I also inserted some macros to cause instructions and information to be presented in message boxes so that it is more accessible to screen reader users. Users will need to have macros enabled to see these instructions. The message boxes are necessary because when the form is protected the insertion point will not move out of the form fields. The form is accessible with JAWS 3.7 or later, and Word 2000. It has not been tested with any other release of Microsoft Word, but should work with Word XP. There are some JAWS settings changes that may make navigation easier for some users. These will be addressed in the help file. When tabbing through the form while JAWS is running, extra text will be spoken because JAWS is attempting to guess at prompt information for the form fields. It is generally a bad idea to use tables for alignment purposes as they have been used in this form. The tables are causing the problems with incorrect prompt announcements. JAWS users will simply need to ignore the extra text and use JAWS reading keystrokes to hear the prompt for the current field.

JAWS users can always press JAWS Key + Tab, or JAWS Key + Up Arrow to hear the current question. If there is any confusion, pressing the F1 key will provide help for the current field. The help includes the number of characters available for data entry.

My staff is not avalable and the form is protected again so I can't get in to tell you specifics. I am looking for general direction. If someone helps by suggesting anything that might help, then that someone can go to bed tonight and sleep knowing they did a good deed. Again sluggishness beggining in the middle of the document and increasing until most often a lock up. Word locks up not the computer. Thanks.
