macros in Word are disabled

No matter what I do with regard to the advice on the error message "Macros
are Disabled" I still continue to get the error. This happens when opening or
closing Word 2003 and even if Word is not open, when closing Outlook, I get
the same message. It's very aggravating - I just paid a good sum of money for
the latest Word Pro package (I've used MS Office Pro and Outlook for years!)
and now I have troubles like the plague! Please help.

If you have reduced the Macro Security level to Medium, you should not be
getting this message. You should instead be getting a message that allows
you to enable the macros. And if you have checked the box for "Trust all
installed templates and add-ins" (Trusted Sources tab of Tools | Macro |
Security), then you shouldn't be getting a prompt for any template or add-in
in the User Templates, Workgroup Templates, or Word Startup folder.
Unfortunately, the trust doesn't extend to the Office Startup folder, but
you may get the opportunity to "Trust all macros from X Corp."
Alternatively, if you don't need an add-in that is in the Office Startup
folder, you can move it (or you can move it into Word's Startup folder).

The instructions say to set security to high and check "Trust all installed
templates and add-ins" but that continues to send the error. If I change to
medium security, I get two different windows that open to enable macros,
EVERY time I open Word 2003 or Outlook. This is a disgusting process!! I want
to get rid of all these confounded pop-up windows and error messages! I don't
understand what you are referring to in your last sentence: "Alternatively,
if you don't need an add-in that is in the Office Startup folder, you can
move it (or you can move it into Word's Startup folder)." What Add-In?? I
only installed the Office 2003 Pro package and expect it to run. Please help.
Thanks in advance; Gene.
